Most scissor lift training courses take a day to complete (7-8 hours). A scissor lift training course will also include a theory with a written exam at the end of first part, and in the second part of the training a practical training and assessment exam. Once the day has been complete and assuming you have passed you will become a holder of a PAL card (Powered Access Licence) and IPAF issued Certificate.

scissor lift training courses can cost between £165 and go right up to £400 depending on location, where in the country you are and category of scissor lift you would like to train to use.

The vast majority if not all scissor lift training courses follow and teach to the standard of ISO 18878 ‘MEWP Operator Training‘. The ISO 18878 is recognised and accepted but site safety inspectors, contractor’s groups, health and safety and UK authorities. The ISO is also widely recognised in European, Australia and Canada.
