Scissor Lift Training Guide

These particular PDF information sheets explains exactly how to avoid falls, not only to mitigate the effects once any fall occurs. Additionally , it explains how to select suitable fall protection equipment where the risk cannot be adequately controlled. Every type of boom (articulated and telescopic) mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), commonly known as ‘Scissor Lifts, are covered by this guidance, including ones that are:

  • Vehicle-mounted lifts;
  • Self-propelled lifts;
  • Trailer-mounted lifts.

The guidance in these documents is not intended to cover risks connected with work in close proximity to(or on) overhead power lines, people climbing out from the scissor lift (this is not normally allowed), and the detailed requirements for information, instruction and training associated with the operation of Scissor Lifts and other MEWPs.
This particular information PDF has been produced in consultation with the International Powered Access Federation Ltd (IPAF) and the Construction Plant-hire Association.

We hope you find the information within these PDFs useful and beneficial when attending a scissor lift training course.
